An unidentified body was found in Fremont around 2 p.m. Sunday.
A group of fishermen found the body alongside the Sandusky River near Sand Road and North Front Street near the sugar beet plant. Police say there were no signs of foul play; the body was well-preserved.
The Lucas County coroner conducted an autopsy Monday morning. The autopsy is complete, but the coroner has yet to release any information. The body is still unidentified.
The Sandusky County Sheriff's Department is working with the Fremont Police Department on the case. Police are investigating whether or not the body found belongs to Damon Scott, the Fremont man missing since mid-January.
