MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

A Mesa teenager who was reported missing was back at home Monday morning and does not appear to have been held against her will as she claimed Thursday in a message to a friend, police said.

Skylar Sanders, 16, returned home on her own, said Sgt. Tony Landato of the Mesa Police Department. Landato said Sanders would be interviewed by police.

Sanders was reported missing after she was last seen by some friends at an apartment complex at 1866 North Spring Mesa between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. March 7.

She left with two acquaintances of hers - a woman who was identified as Monica Hohenadel and a man named Danny, officers said.

During the course of the day, Sanders' friend received messages indicating she was being held at an unknown location, police said.

She mentioned she was not free to leave and feared for her safety.

Police said Sanders is a habitual runaway.
