Christon is XU's first A10 rookie of year

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Atlantic 10 Conference Tuesday named Xavier's Semaj Christon as its top freshman for the 2012-13 season.

Christon is the first Musketeer to win the A10 rookie of the year award.

Christon, a Cincinnati native, also made the all-conference second team.  Christon averages 15.4 points and 4.7 assists per game.

Xavier senior Travis Taylor was named the conference's most improved player and a member of the A10 all-conference third team.

Xavier opens the A10 tournament Wednesday against St. Joe's.
