Residents celebrate Passover at community Sedar event

Posted: Updated:

Local residents celebrated Passover on Thursday, on behalf of the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

The 20th annual Community Intergroup Seder was held at the Mayerson JCC in Amberly. The Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual feast, marking the beginning of the Jewish holiday. Attendees read from the Haggadah and enjoyed traditional foods such as parsley, matzo and horseradish.

Due to the event taking place at noon, grape juice was served instead of wine.

The Seder was officiated by Rabbi Matthew Kraus, director of the Hebrew program in the University of Cincinnati Department of Judaic Studies.

Although AJC is dedicated to global Jewish advocacy, members of all religions and backgrounds were invited to participate.
