Freak storm causes two deaths

Two college students whose car was caught in a New York City flash flood have been electrocuted by a downed power line. Freak storms moved through the area yesterday, knocking down the electrical line at an intersection in the borough of Queens. At the time, the students' car was caught in waist-deep water. They jumped from the car and were electrocuted. The storms also caused lightning strikes near two boys, who were hospitalized with minor injuries.
