The Meadows Wickenburg Announces New Continuing Care Team

The Meadows trauma and addiction treatment center in Wickenburg, Ariz., recently announced the expansion of its Continuing Care Department. In order to provide improved care to The Meadows’ patients and service to its referral resources, The Meadows has dedicated expanded resources to its aftercare services.

The Meadows trauma and addiction treatment center in Wickenburg, Ariz., recently announced the expansion of its Continuing Care Department. In order to provide improved care to The Meadows’ patients and service to its referral resources, The Meadows has dedicated expanded resources to its aftercare services.

The goals of the expanded services are:

  •     To provide patients with an assigned individual at the onset of their treatment experience who will follow them through the entire program to support and guide them with their research and intake phases of aftercare
  •     To communicate with referral resources to coordinate their patient’s ongoing care needs in conjunction with The Meadows’ clinical treatment recommendations in an effort to provide quality patient care
  •     To extend The Meadows’ relationships and network of quality continuing care service providers

“The four members of the Continuing Care team are a blend of unique skill sets with a commitment to providing caring and professional support to their respective treatment teams and patients, said Nancy Bailey, Ph.D., The Meadows Clinical Director. “I am very excited and proud to welcome this new team to our treatment family.”

The new team includes:

  •     Courtney Berg, BS, graduated from Arizona State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Tourism Management and a minor in Gerontology. Courtney has worked at The Meadows since 2006. She started her career at The Meadows as the Recreation Coordinator transferring to the position of Wellness Coordinator, and now accepting the position of Continuing Care Coordinator.
  •     Jean Holtz, MSE, RD, LPC, earned her Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Wisconsin. She is also a Registered Dietitian and university instructor. Holtz has a long career history of working with eating disordered clients, survivors of incest, and individuals with self-injury behaviors.
  •     Jennifer Noto, MAPC, began pursuing a Master’s degree in professional counseling at Ottawa University after an eight-year career in graphic design. With her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The Maryland Institute College of Art, her area of concentration was Expressive Arts Therapy. Noto completed an internship at The Meadows in 2012, and returned to The Meadows as a fulltime Continuing Care Coordinator and Expressive Arts Therapist after receiving her MAPC in January 2013. Noto has also been a registered yoga teacher (RYT) since 2010 and recently completed a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Instruction program. Additionally, Noto is training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
  •     Judy Shaffer, BS, began her career at The Meadows in 2001, obtaining training by many of the present and former Meadows’ Senior Fellows, including Pia Mellody, Claudia Black, Patrick Carnes, Bessel Van der Kolk, and Peter Levine. She left in 2007 to obtain her degree from Colorado Christian University. As a returning employee, Shaffer has several years of experience behind her as she settles into her position as Continuing Care Coordinator.
