Suspect bites off part of Honolulu police officer's finger during arrest

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A Honolulu Police officer was taken to a hospital in serious condition Wednesday morning after a man bit off part of the officer's finger during an arrest, police say.

The officer, who is a 41-year-old male, was injured at Wilder House, located at 1114 Wilder Avenue, as he was attempting to arrest a 52-year-old man for trespassing on the property.

During a scuffle, the suspect bit off the tip of the officer's finger.  He was arrested for assault and trespassing.
