HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A portion of State Route 177 was dedicated to a fallen Hamilton soldier.
The segment of State Route 177 between State Route 73 and Stahlheber Road was dedicated as the Sgt. David Luff, Jr. Memorial Highway on Saturday.
Luff was killed on Nov. 21, 2010 in Iraq after insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was the only soldier in his unit to die in the attack.
Luff became a father just six months before his death when his son, Aiden, was born. He also left behind his wife of two years, Katie.
State Senator Bill Coley and State Representative Wes Retherford joined Luff's parents for the dedication ceremony.
Coley co-sponsored the bill to dedicate the road in Luff's memory.
