EASTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -

A dad was arrested Monday morning, after Eastlake Police Officers say he put a bag of marijuana in his son's book bag. A teacher at Eastlake Elementary School smelled the pot and called police.

Cory McCallister, 35, tells police he was giving a relative a ride home Sunday night, but didn't want to take the bag of marijuana with him.

McCallister then placed the drugs in a backpack that was hanging on a hook inside his house.

Returning home he neglected to retrieve his stash.

McCallister is charged with child endangering and possession of marijuana. After processing was complete he was released on a $3500 unsecured appearance bond.
