Students attend summit for adolescent drug abuse

ANDERSON TWP, OH (FOX19) -

The topic of conversation in the Forest Hills School District on Tuesday was drug abuse.

The SAGA Coalition, which stands for Substance Awareness Greater Anderson, held the SAGA High School Youth Summit.

More than 100 students from Anderson, Turpin and McNicholas High School took part in the event.

Participants discussed adolescent drug abuse and ideas on how to prevent the issue.

Several local officials, including a representative from Ohio Senator Rob Portman's office, were at the event to listen to ideas and perhaps even put them to use.

SAGA works to bring awareness and prevention to the Anderson community about the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
