CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Community leaders and elected officials are calling for changes at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV).

Protestors gathered downtown on Wednesday, saying they want BMVs throughout the State of Ohio to grant driver's licenses to all eligible individuals, including some immigrants.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA, was established in June 2012 for undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children.

Currently, the standard is not consistent. Individuals under this category who qualify are being granted driver's licenses in some local BMVs, but denied a license in others.

Immigrants who qualify for DACA receive two years of legal status in the U.S. so they can work, go to school and obtain a driver's license.
