There are warrants out for the arrest of a Crisp County teacher accused of having consensual sex with a student.
35 year old Gerome Morgan is charged with two counts of sexual assault for having consensual sex with a student.
They say the encounters happened on and off campus at Crisp County High School, where he teaches Science and technology.
Colonel Billy Hancock of the Crisp County Sheriff's Office and Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Hayes held a joint news conference this afternoon.
"This something that everyone takes very seriously and it is not going to be taken lightly," said Hancock.
The Crisp County Sheriff Department says Morgan could face more charges. He resigned from his position this afternoon.
The investigation has been underway since Monday.
