Cincinnati Zoo celebrates Easter

AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Zoo celebrated Easter on Saturday in a unique way.

Visitors gathered at the zoo to have an Easter egg hunt with the animals.

Eggs were scattered across the grounds for children to find. Four special golden eggs were hidden that were redeemable for prizes.

Special treat stations were also set up around the zoo for children to fill their baskets.

While kids filled their baskets, the animals had some Easter fun of their own.

Elephants, gorillas, snow monkeys and Komodo dragons also searched for Easter eggs full of treats.

FOX19's Kelly Rippin was on hand hiding Easter eggs for the elephants to find.

"Elephants have a great sense of smell," explained elephant handler Val Nastold "No matter where you put them, they will find them."
