Woman faces charges of spitting, urinating in cruiser

LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) -

A Middletown woman is expected in court on Thursday for charges of smoking marijuana and being combative with officers.

Crista Brown, 30 was arrested on Sunday following a report of loud activity near the Tuscany Bay Apartments in Lawrenceburg.

Authorities say when officers arrived, they stopped a vehicle matching a description reported to police. During the stop, officers say there was an 'obvious indication' that all three people in the car had been drinking and smoking marijuana.

Brown, the owner of the vehicle, told police she was carrying marijuana.

Brown was arrested and while riding in the cruiser, police say she spit on the cage and urinated on the seat. At the Dearborn County Jail, she allegedly kicked, scratched and spit on corrections officers and a deputy.

Brown was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Law Enforcement, Battery on Corrections Staff, and two counts of Battery by Body Waste.

She was released from jail after posting a $2,500 surety and $1,00 cash bond.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for June 4.
