HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A slain Ohio soldier was honored on Saturday as a portion of an Ohio highway is named his honor.
A stretch of Ohio Route 4 in Hamilton was given the honorary name of First Sgt. Ricky L. McGinnis Memorial highway. The stretch of highway spans between Grand Blvd. and Bobmeyer Road.
McGinnis was killed in 2006 by an improvised explosive device in Balad, Iraq. The 42-year-old soldier was from Hamilton, Ohio.
The dedication was made possible by Substitute House Bill 325 sponsored by Senator Bill Coley.
