ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

AirCare was called to an overnight crash in Butler County.

It happened just after 2 a.m. on Smith Road near Goos Road in St. Clair Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Chad T. Smith, age 19, of Somerville, was driving a 2002 GMC pickup truck southbound on Smith Road just north of the intersection with Goos Road.  He apparently lost control, crossing the centerline and traveling off the left side of the roadway striking a guardrail.

The vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway into a ditchline, rolling onto its side, then crossed back over the road striking the guardrail again.

Smith walked to a nearby residence and asked for help.  He was transported by AirCare to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with an apparent head laceration.

The incident remains under investigation.
