Strong odor lures deputy to meth lab discovery

MT. ORAB, OH (FOX19) - A man was arrested for manufacturing meth after a deputy on patrol noticed a strong odor coming from a home in Mt. Orab.

Authorities say Joe Rose, 50, of Winchester, Ohio, was taken into custody last Friday. A deputy approached the house to question about the odor, and it was later revealed that Rose was allegedly manufacturing methamphetamines in the garage.

The meth lab was seized by the Brown County Sheriff's Office.

Rose was charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs with a juvenile specification, a first degree felony.

He was taken to the Brown County Adult Detention Center, where he remains in custody on a $100,000 bond issued.
