Cincinnati, OH (FOX19) - Less than two weeks after visiting the University of Cincinnati campus, former Notre Dame quarterback Gunner Kiel has decided to transfer to UC and play football for head coach Tommy Tuberville and the Bearcats.
Two University of Cincinnati sources have confirmed to FOX19 that Kiel will enroll at UC shortly and join the Bearcats football program. Kiel was seen watching from the sideline when the Bearcats practiced at Paul Brown Stadium the last weekend in March.
A highly recruited player out of Indiana's Columbus East High School, Kiel (6' 4", 210 lbs) gave verbal commitments to both Indiana University and LSU before signing at Notre Dame.
He will set out a year at Cincinnati and then have three years of eligibility remaining.
