A motorists helped police nab a suspect who took off on foot during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at approximately 5:40 p.m. a passenger in a car stopped on I-275 at the 2.1 mile marker near Erlanger by a Boone County Sheriff deputy ran across the busy interstate in an effort to elude capture.

A motorist who witnessed the event stopped his car and tackled the fleeing man.

Dennis Mobley, 41 of Burlington, provided the deputy who stopped the car false information concerning his identity.  The name he used came back with an active arrest warrant issued to it so when the deputy had Mobley get out of the car and informed him of the warrant he took off running across the interstate.  That's when Brandon Black, 38 of Hebron, stopped his car on the side of the interstate and tackled the runner, holding him until deputies caught up.

Mobley was wanted for a parole violation warrant.  Additionally, he was charged with Giving officer false name, Fleeing or evading, Wanton Endangerment (2 counts), Resisting arrest, Possession of controlled substance, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
