Police: Drunk man tased after resisting arrest

Authorities say an intoxicated man was tased after a physical struggle with police.

Warren County Sheriffs say a report was made of a possible drunk driver in the 2800 block of Millbank Row in Deerfield Township on Thursday around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an unoccupied car parked illegally.

Police then located Roberto Jose Gomez, 28, of Landen, after receiving an additional report of a suspicious man walking in the area.

That's when police say he became uncooperative and began resisting efforts to detain him, resulting in a physical struggle. Gomez reportedly broke free from the deputy on scene and began to run, when he was tased in order to get him to stop.

Gomez was charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business and numerous traffic related charges. Police say he was highly intoxicated.

He is currently being held at the Warren County Jail.
