Miracle League kicks off 2013 season

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - It's not only the Cincinnati Reds who open their baseball season in grand style.

Cincinnati Recreation Commission's Miracle League opened their season this weekend.

The Miracle League program offers athletes with disabilities an opportunity to have fun and participate in an organized and competitive baseball league. The rules are simple- everyone hits and everyone plays.

Opening night ceremonies kicked off on Friday evening around 6 p.m. at the Dick Wieland Miracle Field at Dunham Recreation Complex.

The Reds Community Fund provided hotdogs and hamburgers as teams were announced for the 2013 season.

Teams took the field on Saturday morning for their season opener.
