Lunnemann was pulled over by a Boone County Sheriff's Deputy on Ky. 18 and McGrath Road for having no tail lights. The deputy observed slurred speech and an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Lunnemann admitted that he drank two beers at his brother's house, and later stated that he actually at four beers. He failed three sobriety tests.
Florence Mayor Diane Whalen said in a statement that the incident occurred after business hours and was not related to his city duties.
"We will thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident and take any action deemed appropriate," said Whalen.
