HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY (FOX19) -

The Northern Kentucky University (NKU) President delivered his annual address of the school's budget on Wednesday.

President Geoffrey Mearns addressed faculty and students on campus, revealing how federal sequestration budget cuts will have a minor impact on the university's budget.

President Mearns also conveyed that Federal Pell Grants for students are protected through 2014 and will not face cuts.

NKU will see reductions in some types of financial aid.

Mearns says the Federal Work-Study Program, which helps needy students finance the cost of college by providing money for part-time employment, will be affected, as well as federal support for sponsored research.
