CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Fifth Third Bank and Frost Brown Todd have joined with the American Heart Association held an inaugural event to raise awareness of heart disease.

Paint the Square Red was Thursday on Fountain Square.

Participants had the chance to win Reds tickets and other prizes from the Cincinnati Reds.

"Heart disease claims one in every three women.  That's why we are encouraging all Cincinnatians to come to Fountain Square wearing red to support the American Heart Association's awareness campaign, Go Red For Women," said Kim Halbauer of Fifth Third Bank and co-chair of the Go Red For Women Luncheon which will be held on May 9.  "Our goal is to cover Fountain Square in a sea of red, as a visual reminder that heart disease is our number one killer."

There was a red balloon launch and heart photo.
