HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -
Authorities say two juveniles accused of starting a garage fire in Hamilton will not be sent to court.
Police were called to a reported garage fire in the 1200 block of Campbell Avenue on April 7. Investigators concluded that the blaze was started by an 8-year-old and 11-year-old playing with a lighter.
The initial flames caught a second nearby garage on fire. Fire crews said the radiated heat was so intense, that it damaged vinyl siding on five other garages and houses along the street.
Officials say after consulting with the Juvenile court prosecutors, neither boy will be sent to juvenile court.
However, both will be required to complete the Juvenile Firesetters program and undergo an evaluation for possibility of further treatment.
