MASON, OH (FOX19) - Students at Mason High School proved they can excel many areas, including giving back to an important cause.
Mason's National Honor Society held their annual Pasta for Pennies campaign and raised over $31,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Their contribution made Mason the top Pasta for Pennies fundraising school in the state, and third in the nation.
The campaign included a 'Zumbathon', a student open mic night at Kidd Coffee, special dining events at BW3's, Chick-Fil-A and Mongolian Grill, a winter dance and a talent show.
"We had a lot of support and enthusiasm this year. It is an important cause, and we are glad to show that even the smallest donation can help move us closer to a cure," said Pasta for Pennies Co-Chair and Mason senior, Nick Riedell.
The school will receive a trophy and top fundraiser recognition.
