CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A new exhibition of landscape photo collages and artifacts is opening at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
Stephen Marc: Passage on the Underground Railroad celebrates the natural beauty of landscape and the spirit of freedom in the Underground Railroad. Through digital collages including photographs, historic documents and artifacts, visitors will see the complexity and grandeur of this movement in our history.
Artist/photographer Stephen Marc spent nearly a decade photographing sites along the Underground Railroad in more than 20 states and Canada, documenting the places and people associated with this network of secret routes and safe houses used by enslaved individuals seeking freedom.
The exhibition includes several historical sites in Ohio, including the Rankin House and the Parker House in Ripley.
The exhibition opens April 27 and will run through Sept. It is included free with Freedom Center admission ($12 adults, $10 seniors, $8 children 3-12).
