Play ball. Chicago's Buildings Commission is letting baseball take place as scheduled tonight at Wrigley Field. The commission says inspectors found "no evidence of shoddy repairs" at the Cubs' ballpark. The city's buildings commissioner threatened last week to cancel tonight's game if Wrigley didn't pass new inspections. He'd been told by a Los Angeles Times reporter that repair work at Wrigley had been shoddy. The reporter cited sources within the Cubs organization. But the reporter and the newspaper have withdrawn the remarks -- saying there had been a mistake. Pieces of concrete have fallen from the upper deck at Wrigley on at least three occasions since June. Stadium officials have installed protective netting.
