HANALEI, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The video on a GoPro camera found in Hanalei Bay on Kauai tells quite a story. A wave builds on the horizon suddenly you hear a man saying,"Oh oooh, were going to get slammed."
Moments later the wave hits and you see the camera sinking to the ocean floor.
The GoPro was presumably lost forever, until April 9 when a San Francisco couple went surfing in Hanalei Bay. Anna Kuperberg and her wife, Carla Johnson found the camera in the water and were surprised to find that it still worked.
Anna Kuperberg says the video has a timestamp of March 2011, she uploaded part of it to her Vimeo page to see if social media could help find the camera's owner. In a single day, the video has been viewed about 52,000 times and moved up to No. 4 on the social media site, Reddit, Kuperberg says.
"I will feel very happy if the owner is found, since I know how terrible I would feel if I lost this camera," said Kuperberg.
If you know anyone in this video found on April 9, 2013 at Hanalei Bay you can email Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org. Check out the the original VIMEO link!
