Police still searching for 4th suspect in west Toledo homicide
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledo police continue to search for the final suspect involved in a fatal shooting in west Toledo at the Oakwood Apartments on Twin Oaks Drive.
Nathaniel Phillips, 21, was found dead at the scene Monday with several gunshot wounds. The shooting is believed to have started inside a townhouse in the area and spilled out into the parking lot, where Phillips was found dead.
So far, two 17-year-old suspects have been arrested in relation to the murder: Levi Jackson and Cody Ramsay. They are both charged with murder and aggravated robbery. Lucas County Prosecutor Lori Olender says her office will ask the court to try Jackson and Ramsay as adults.
Jackson appeared in juvenile court Thursday morning and was ordered to be detained in the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center. He will be back in court May 14.
Olender says a third juvenile involved in the case will not face charges as an adult because she was not involved in Phillips' murder, but was with Ramsay and Jackson when they robbed an elderly man at the end of April. The teen is charged with robbery in that crime.
Police are still looking for another suspect, described as a male in his 20s with the street name "Snout." Anyone with more information should call CrimeStoppers at 419-255-1111.
