HOUSTON (RNN) – Authorities say a man shot himself at a ticket counter inside Bush Intercontinental Airport Thursday afternoon.

According to KHOU, the suspect walked inside Terminal B and fired at least two shots into the air before shooting and killing himself.

Houston police were called to the "discharge of firearm" around 1:35 p.m., according to KTRK.

KHOU said the man was armed with an AR-15 rifle. An air marshal confronted the gunman, who shot himself in the head, the station reported.

A law enforcement source told CNN that the man attempted to get through a security checkpoint with the gun.

There are no reports of other injuries, and police are not looking for anyone else who may be involved in the shooting.

The airport is slowly getting back up and operational.
