FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

Two people were injured when a man taking a test drive collided an SUV through the front of a Franklin business.

The incident was reported at Drive Now Franklin on Highway 96 West just after 1 p.m.

Officials said the test drive was wrapping up and the driver was pulling the SUV back into the lot when the driver pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake while attempting to park.

A salesman, who was sitting on a bench in front of a plate glass window at the front of the store, became pinned beneath the vehicle as it crashed into the building.

Emergency crews were able to get the vehicle off the man, and he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

He was listed in stable condition, police said.

A second employee sitting inside the building was also struck by the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.

The 59-year-old driver and two other occupants in the vehicle were uninjured.
