Special Olympics athletes take to soccer field

MASON, OH (FOX19) - Special needs athletes took to the field Friday afternoon for a Special Olympics soccer tournament in Mason.

Wall to Wall sports opened its doors to teams from all over Hamilton County.

Athletes competed under the watchful eyes of students from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy who took a break from their studies to volunteer their time as referees.

Organizers say this is an annual event where everyone wins.

At the conclusion of play each and every athlete competing is given a special award.
