COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A truck driver was taken to the hospital after his tractor trailer jack-knifed Tuesday morning in Covington.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on southbound I-71/75 at the top of the Cut-in-the-Hill.
Covington Police say the truck had a punctured fuel tank and was spilling fuel across all four lanes of the interstate.
The interstate was completely shut down for almost three hours, backing traffic up all the way into Ohio.
The driver of the truck, Richard Blust, of Illinois, was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Multiple wreckers were used to remove the damaged vehicle and assist stranded trucks through the affected area.
