3 indicted for illegally voting in Hamilton Co.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Three people have been indicted for illegal voting in Hamilton County.

Margaret Allen, 64, Ernestine Strickland, 84, and Andrew Wilson, 49, have all been indicted on one count of illegal voting, punishable by up to 18 months in prison.

Allen is charged with attempting to vote in the 2012 Ohio General Election by requesting an Absentee Voter Ballot even though she is a resident of Florida.  She has not been an Ohio resident since 2009.

Strickland is charged with registering to vote and voting by Absentee Voter Ballot in the 2012 Ohio General Election even though she is a resident of Tennessee and has never lived in Ohio.

Wilson is charged with registering to vote and voting by Absentee Voter Ballot in the 2012 Ohio General Election by using a fictitious Ohio address.

"Our democracy is built on our lawful right to vote.  Everyone's vote is weakened when some people decide to disobey the law.  We must be vigilant in protecting everyone's right to vote," said Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters.

This follows charges filed in three additional cases. Russell Glossop, 75, Melowese Richardson, 58 and Sister Marguerite Kloos were all charged in March. Richardson was a Hamilton County poll worker.
