Xavier celebrates commencement with two ceremonies

Xavier University celebrated their 175th commencement conferring nearly 2,000 degrees.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Two ceremonies were held at the University's Cintas Center on Saturday.

The first ceremony, beginning at 9:00 a.m featured athlete and philanthropist, Anthony Muñoz, as the undergraduate commencement speaker. Muñoz received the degree of Doctor of Humanities, honoris causa.

The second ceremony, beginning at 3:00 p.m., featured Yousuf Ahmad as the graduate speaker. Ahmad is the divisional senior vice president and chief network transformation officer with Mercy Health.

In total, 1,102 undergraduate degrees and 853 graduate degrees were awarded.
