Man, 26, killed in Springfield Twp accident

SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) -

One person was killed after a single car accident in Springfield Township on Tuesday evening.

Authorities say Shawn Cunningham, 26, of Colerain Township, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala when his vehicle slammed into a tree before the car burst into flames.

It happened on Adams Road around 5:40 p.m. Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Adams Road between Tag Drive and Adams Ridge Drive were closed for over three hours while police investigated the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Springfield Township Police at (513) 729-1300.
