Learn more about Baoku Moses

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Baoku Moses, the founder of Positive Image Arts, LLC, was born and raised in Nigeria. In 2002, he made his way to the United States but he started his Afro-Beat career in 1997 shortly after the passing of the father of Afro-beat, Fela Kuti.

Afro-beat combines African instruments and western jazz used to preach issues facing people all around the world. Baoku's style of Afro-Beat is unique because of his use of Nigerian drums. His music reflects his view that unity promotes peace.

Baoku and The Image Afro-Beat band, a Cincinnati based band, is currently rated top band on reverbnation and recently played the OTR 5K run on Saturday May 17th .

Half of all sales go to World Vision, an organization that helps families living in poverty worldwide.  His band is one of the large elements of his multi-cultural performing arts company he founded.  Positive Image Arts, LLC promotes cultural diversity and bridges cultural gaps with educational programs, workshops, performances and more.

Programs are held at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center every Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The African Folklore group is also a part of Positive Image Arts offering drumming and dance classes, providing community building rhythm circles as well as giving performances.

Baoku performed for us at FOX19 in Tracey Johnson's "Around the World in Cincy" segment on Nigeria. You can watch it here: http://www.fox19.com/category/240225/video-landing-page?clipId=8898112&autostart=true
