A 10-year-old Milford girl is asking her city council to help raise awareness of bullying.
On May 15, Alexis Walter presented Milford City Council's Administrative Service with a presentation on Becoming an Upstander to End the Trend of Bullying. The committee agreed to move the resolution to full council for a vote.
Full council met on Tuesday evening and passed the resolution.
Alexis says bullying isn't just a school issue, but a neighborhood issue and more. She feels it is too common among young people.
"If more kids speak up and support the victim more than the one doing the bullying we can put an end to this trend," she said. "Just because someone is different doesn't mean you should be mean to them."
