CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Shortly after being recognized as one of only five libraries in the U.S. to receive the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County has hit another huge milestone.
The library now has a half million cardholders.
If you don't have a Library card, you can sign up for one online or stop by the Main Library or one of 40 branches.
To celebrate the occasion, the library is spotlighting images of customers with their Library cards on our Facebook and Twitter sites. Customers are invited post an image with your Library card (as an individual, as part of a book club or group, or as a family).
In addition to our regular Library card, which can be used to access a huge collection of bestselling books, movies, and CDs, we also offer several other types of Library cards geared toward specific interests including our:
- Downloadable Only Library Card - For our customers age 18 and older who only want to use the Library's downloadable resources (ebooks, e-audio books and music).
- Teen Only Library Card - For teens ages 13-17, this card doesn't require a parent's signature and allows teens to check out up to 3 teen books at a time. No fines accrue on this card. When one book is returned, the teen can get another.
- Child Only Library Card - For our users age 12 or younger, this card doesn't require a parent's signature and allows children to check out up to 3 juvenile books at a time. No fines accrue on this card. When one book is returned, the child can get another.
