PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. (AP) - Police say a woman accused of fabricating a story about being attacked to get her ex-boyfriend's attention has been charged with filing a false police report.

Authorities say 19-year-old Kayla Earl, of Hueytown, surrendered to police Wednesday and her bond has been set at $500. Detective Jason Davis says Earl was trying to win her ex-boyfriend back when she told police she was attacked at a cemetery while she was visiting a friend's grave.

A sheriff's deputy found the woman lying on the side of the road with a bag over her head. She appeared to be unconscious and was taken to the UAB Hospital.

Police from Pleasant Grove and Hueytown investigated the report and authorities say during a second interview, Earl confessed that the story was a hoax.
