SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

A Selma man pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault in the shooting death of a man in May 2013.

Ronald Mitchell was sentenced to 20 years for manslaughter and 10 years for assault.

"This was another senseless killing in Selma. We are going to keep shipping these gunslingers off to prison," said District Attorney Michael Jackson.

Police say 22-year-old Johnson was last seen by his mother on May 20, 2013 in the 500 block of Woodrow Ave.

Johnson was reported missing the next day after family members became concerned that he did not return home or call.

During the investigation, police determined Mitchell was the last person to have a conversation with Johnson early Tuesday morning.

Mitchell admitted to fatally shooting Johnson and led investigators to his body in a wooded area below the 100 block of Old Montgomery High. Mitchell also admitted to hiding Johnson's vehicle.
