Man dies after parachuting accident in Warren Co.

WAYNE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A Lebanon man has died after a parachuting accident where he collided in mid-air with another diver.

The accident happened on Sunday evening in Warren County just outside of Waynesville, around 7 p.m.

Authorities were called to the scene after the two people collided and landed in the Holly Hills Golf Course, located near the Red Stewart Airfield Airport.

Clifford Schmucker, 58, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The Montgomery County Corner reports that Schmuckers' emergency parachute opened and he landed in a tree after the collision.

The other parachutist did not receive medical attention.

The exact cause of death has not yet been revealed.
