LIBERTY TWP, OH (FOX19) - An IED was found in Butler County.
Someone called the Butler County Sheriff's Office after an pipe bomb was found in the 6300 block of Mauds Hughes Road in Liberty Township. It happened around 1:30 p.m.
Bomb squad members used a tool called a "disrupter" to open the end of the pipe bomb and render it safe.
Investigators say it had been there for an extended period of time.
The road was shut down to traffic for approximately 45 minutes during the incident but has since re-opened.
The device and contents were collected to be examined further. The incident remains under investigation.
There were no injuries.
