JaMarcus Russell continues NFL comeback

Former LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell has loss 50 pounds and at his new weight of 265 he is hoping for another chance at the NFL.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that there is now "significant" interest from more than one team, according to a source.

If Russell does not make it with an NFL team, according to Rapoport, he would be open to playing in the CFL.

Russell has hired well known agent Eugene Parker to help in his comeback attempt.

The Oakland Raiders made Russell the number one pick of the 2007 NFL Draft and cut him in 2010 after three disappointing years.

In his three years with the Raiders, Russell threw 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions and had 25 fumbles.
