(FOX19) - A former Northern Kentucky Police Sergeant was given a posthumous award on Friday for service.
Former Kenton County Police Chief Sergeant Brett Benton had been in Afghanistan for only three weeks when he was killed by a roadside bomb. Benton was killed in June of 2011 while working as a contractor for DynCorp.
