Employees robbed at gunpoint at Burlington Coat Factory

COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Authorities are investigating an aggravated robbery at the Burlington Coat Factory in Columbia Township.

The incident occurred in the 5200 block of Ridge Road around 9:55 p.m. on Friday as employees were preparing to close the store.

Police say that a suspect approached several employees, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from employees. The employees were then escorted to another part of the store at gunpoint where the suspect received an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

The suspect fled the business in a westerly direction.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police and K9 units responded to the scene. A K9 track was initiated but met with negative results.

Police later determined that the suspect entered a vehicle on the western end of the parking lot after leaving the store. The suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.
