Redlegs Run raises over $180K

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Over 4,300 runners and walkers turned out Saturday morning for the 12th annual Redlegs Run at Great American Ball Park, generating more than $180,000 for the Reds Community Fund.

The run included both a 5K and a 10K. Participants were invited to either run or walk the course to support a good cause.

Kevin Herd was first to cross the finish line in the 10K with a time of 34:00. The top female finisher in the 10K was Kerry Lee of Cincinnati with a time of 38:39.

Derrick Butler of Ashtabula finished first in the 5K with a time of 16:03. Olivia Connaughton, a Cincinnati native, was the top female finisher with a time of 18:31.

All four of the top finishers have been invited to throw out ceremonial pitches prior to the Tuesday, June 4 Reds vs. Rockies game at Great American Ball Park.

All proceeds from the race directly benefit the Reds Community Fund and its youth baseball and softball initiatives.
