CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Kidney Walk took place Downtown this morning along Cincinnati's riverfront.
The walk kicked off at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning from the National Underground Freedom Center. Both a one-mile route and a three mile route were available to participants.
Onsite activities included exhibitors, a kid's area, raffle packages, live music and a Kidney Health Risk Assessment in the Wellness Pavilion. Team T-shirts and banner contests were also part of the event.
All Pro Defensive Tackle Geno Atkins was on hand as one of this year's Honorary Walk Chairs.
The event strived to raise $100 thousand for the National Kidney Association.
The National Kidney Association strives to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by the disease, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.
