WYOMING, OH (FOX19) - Wyoming Middle School held a groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday for the school's new renovation and expansion project.
One of the highest rated school districts is getting a $25 million facelift after passing its latest levy.
Originally opening in 1927, the new construction combines history and innovation. The project is maintaining historic features, including the marble staircase and Fay Auditorium.
The school will add a new gym, four large performing arts classrooms, a wellness center, media center, two fine arts classrooms, 19 additional small group rooms and much more.
Work is expected to be completed in December of 2014.
Until the new school is completed, all students and teachers in grades five through eight will attend class at the Middle School Modular Complex, located behind the High School on the athletic fields.
